91大神 Flinders Anglican College is inviting everyone in the community to come along and enjoy the College鈥檚 2019 musical production of Disney Aladdin JR., from 5-6 November at the Flinders Performance Centre.
The production will run over three shows on Tuesday, 5 November at 6:30pm and on Wednesday, 6 November at 1:30pm and at 6:30pm, with tickets available online for $17 each.
Flinders鈥 musical production is an annual event and a year-long process, featuring every student in Year 6, which this year totals 100 students.
Head of Primary Music, Lenora Phillips skillfully directs and manages the production 鈥 her third for Flinders - and has been teaching music and musical theatre for more than 15 years in schools across Queensland.
鈥淎udiences will love the fabulous music, colourful characters and underlying message of self-discovery we share in this vibrant production of Disney Aladdin JR,鈥 said Mrs Phillips.
鈥淭his new adaptation of the beloved Aladdin story is an exciting journey for our students and for audiences, with expanded characters, new songs, and more thrills,鈥 she said.
鈥淓very Year 6 student at our College is involved and we want to congratulate each student for their commitment, sense of fun, teamwork and courage.
鈥淲hile some students may have initially found the process out of their comfort zone, we have been so impressed with the way they have enthusiastically risen to the challenge.鈥
Head of Primary, Trudi Edwards said the musical is an opportunity for students to engage in creative arts experiences, which is an important focus from Prep to Year 12 at the College.
鈥淥ur College community is proud of each and every one of our Year 6 students for their commitment to ensuring our 2019 production is something memorable, entertaining and special for us all,鈥 says Mrs Edwards.
鈥淲e thank staff and parent volunteers, with special thanks to Mrs Lenora Phillips for her unwavering passion and commitment to supporting our students and managing all aspects of the show.鈥
The production is part of Flinders鈥 Music program and is designed to encourage students to develop important life skills such as confidence and teamwork but also a passion for the arts.
The show follows Aladdin, Jasmine and the fast-talking, wise-cracking Genie as they discover mystical caves, take magic carpet rides, and outwit the evil sorcerer, Jafar.
